Sushant Singh Rajput : The Real Hero Ending With Unsolved Mystery
Sushant Singh Rajput was an Indian actor best known for his work in Hindi cinema.
Family and Education
Sushant Singh Rajput was born in Patna in the state of Bihar. His father name is Krishna Kumar Singh, he his retired technical officer and worked at Bihar state. His mother name is Lt. Usha Singh. Sushant was the youngest of five siblings and had the nickname Gulshan. One of his four sisters Mithu Singh was a state level cricket player. He attended the St.Karen's High School in Patna. His family moved to Delhi following his mother's death in 2002 where Sushant completed his schooling for intermediate studies in Kulachi Hansraj Model School.
Sushant was reportedly an avoid reader who was deeply interested in astrophysics and won the National Olympiad in Physics. He secured admission in the Delhi College of Engineering.
Career
During his course the Delhi College of Engineering, Sushant enrolled himself in Shiamak Davar's dance classes. Soon afterward, he also began attending acting classes under the threatre director Barry John.
He was spotted by a casting team of Balaji Telefilms while he was working at the Prithvi theatre. His debut show was the romantic drama Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dill (2008), followed by the lead role in the soap opera Pavitra Rishta (2009-2011). In Pavitra Rishta, Sushant was cast as Manav Deshmukh who was an "ideal son and husband" and co-starred along with Ankita Lokhande. The role was reportedly a breakthrough for him and for which he won various awards, including his first award for best actor in the Indian Television Academic Awards 2010. He also won two major television awards in categories of Best Male Actor and Most Popular Actor.
In 2010, he joined the dance reality show Zara Nachke Dikha. Later in the same year, he also took part in the fourth season of another dance competition reality show called Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
He made his Bollywood debut in the film adaptation Kai Po Che!(2013) which became a commercial and critical success. Shuddh Desi Romance(2013) and the role of the titular detective in the action thriller Detective Byomkesh Bokshy (2015).
He also starred in a number of other films such as Raabta (2017), Sonchiriya (2019) and Drive (2019.
His highest-grossing releases came with a supporting role in the satire PK (2014).
On 25 September 2014, Sushant Singh Rajput was announced as the actor who would play the role of Dhoni in the biopic which titled M.S.Dhoni: The Untold Story and directed by Neeraj Pandey. The film was cricketer beginning with his childhood in the city of Ranchi and leading up to the 2011 World Cup victory for India under his captaincy. The film was produced by Arun Pandey with Fox Star Studios and released on 2 October 2016. It became the 5th highest grossing Bollywood film of that year. Sushant received critical acclaim for his performance and nominations to a number of awards, including the Filmfare Awards, the International Indian Film Academy Awards and the winning nomination at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.
On March 2017, Sushant was signed in by the director Abhishek Kapoor and producer Ekta Kapoor for their film called Kedarnat. It was a love story set in the backdrop of the 2013 floods in Uttarakhand, where Sushant co-starred with Sara Ali Khan. He played the character of Mansoor, a Muslim Porter who was also a devotee of Lord Shiva and whose livelihood revolved around the Shiv temple of Kedarnath. The shooting of the film began in September 2017 and released 7 December 2018.
Entrepreneurial debut and later career
On 2 May 2018, Rajput was inducted as a partner in a company named Innsaei Ventures, which was founded on 26 April 2018, following which he was appointed as one of its three directors, the others being Varun Mathur and Saurabh Mishra. Sushant and Mathur were credited as the co-founders and set to make an investment of Rs.300 crore in the company. The company was named Innsaei after the Icelandic word for institution and marketed as working in the fields related to intellectual property and emerging technologies. Within a week, he was signed in by NITI Aayog to become a brand ambassador of the Women Entrepreneurship Platform and for the promotion of the BHIM mobile payment aap. Subsequently, Innsaei Ventures set up a fund of Rs.20 crore in favour of the Women Entrepreneurship Platform. In the same year, Sushant announced the first creative product of Innsaei Ventures, a 12 basic series where he would play the role of various Indian historical character between the years of 540 BC to 2015 CE.
In 2018, he was also signed in by Nitesh Tiwari the director of the blockbuster film Dangal for his new film titled Chichhore, whose shooting began in September. It was a romantic comedy where Sushant played by the character of Aniruddh Pathak, a divorced husband who recounts his college life to his teenage son and opposite Maya, his ex-wife played by Shraddha Kapoor. Produced by Fox Star Studios and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film was released on 6 September 2019, and became the third movie featuring Sushant to gross over
Rs.100 crore after PK and the Dhoni biopic. The film won the National Film Award for the Best Feature Film in Hindi.
In September 2019, a second company named Vividrage Rhealtyx was registered with a paid up capital of
Rs.1 Lakh, Sushant became one of the three directors of the company, the others being Rhea Chakraborty and Showik Chakraborty.
On 6 January 2020, Rajput also founded a nonprofit organization (NGO) named Front India for World Foundation with the stated intent of working towards the eradication of poverty, hunger and malnutrition and promotion of better healthcare and sanitation. Prior to that on behalf of one of his fans, he denoted
Rs.1 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund following the 2018 Kerala floods. In 2019, he featured the second time in Forbes'annual Top 100 celebrity list.
Since 2017, Sushant was signed in for the dictorial debut of Mukhesh Chhabra, Fox Star Studios had employed Chhabra for a Hindi language remake of The Fault in Our Stars, Hollywood hit film produced by 20th century Fox. The shooting, Sushant had remarked that he shared a great bond with Chhabra and had promised Chhabra that he would appear in his first as well. Based on the novel by the same name 'The Fault in Our Stars', written by the author John Green, the film was initially titled Kizie aur Manny and was scheduled to release in theatre in 2019. Rajput co-starred alongside Sanjana Sanghi and played the character of Manny.
The title was later to Dil Bechara and the release date moved to 8 May 2020. The stated release of the film however did not occur due to restrictions imposed during the Covid-19 pandemic. In the end, it was posthumously released on the streaming platform Disney+Hotstar and became a record breaker in its first 24 hours viewership, having gathered approximate 95 million viewers.
Personal life
In 2011, Rajput publicly proposed to his Pavitra Rishta co-star Ankita Lokhande during a national broadcast of dance competition show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, both of the participated in the same show as competing contestants. In January 2016, Sushant confirmed that a lavish wedding would take place in December, but the relationship ended prior to that, with the pair maintaining silence on the reasons for the cancellation.
After breakup, Sushant's relationship status became the subject of speculation and gossip. He was rumoured to be dating his Rabta co-star Kriti Sanon, which was denied by both of them.
In 2018, he was the subject of another rumour regarding his Kedarnath co-star Sara Ali Khan. The rumour were never confirmed as before the two supposedly broke up, Sushant refused to comment on the claims. Later in the next year, it was reported that he was in relationship with actress Rhea Chakraborty and that intended to keep the matter private.
After Sushant's death, Rhea Chakraborty confirmed that she was his girlfriend.
Death
On 14 January 2020, Sushant, aged 34 was found dead, hanging from the ceiling fan in his home in Bandra, Mumbai.
The Mumbai Police registered an accidental death report and said that the actor had died by suicide. After his death, then Mumbai Police spokesperson and Deputy Commissioner of Police Pranay Ashok had said, “He died by suicide. Mumbai Police is investigating. The police have not found any (suicide) note yet.”
On June 28, 2020, the actor’s father registered an FIR in Patna accusing six people, including actor Rhea Chakraborty and her family members, of abetting Rajput’s suicide. The actor’s father in his complaint also claimed that ₹15 crore had been transferred from his son’s account to a few bank accounts he (Sushant) had connection with.
The FIR at Bihar saw the ED register a case on July 31, 2020 and begin a probe into alleged money laundering. Meanwhile, a team of Bihar Police arrived in Mumbai to investigate the case and found no cooperation from the Mumbai Police in the matter. Mumbai Police did not cooperate with Bihar Police as they felt it was against the norms to register an FIR in Bihar into a case that it (the Mumbai Police) was investigating.
This led to political outrage, following which the Bihar government transferred the case to the CBI. On August 6, 2020, the CBI registered an FIR against Ms. Chakraborty and others, and started a probe.
A team of CBI officials camped in Mumbai, took down statements from many people, went to the actor’s house and recreated the scene, and even roped in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences to submit a forensic report.
Meanwhile, the ED, which is probing the money laundering case, found mention of drugs in mobile phone data it had recovered during its investigation.
Based on a letter from the ED, the NCB was roped into the investigation. After 10 months of investigation, NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede said “We have so far arrested 35 accused, seized 7 kg of drugs, ₹35 lakh, and some foreign currency. The investigation in the Sushant Singh murder case is still going on.”

CBI officials also maintained that the investigation into the case was going on. “We are investigating from all possible angles,” said a senior CBI officer, requesting anonymity.
Senior advocate Vikas Singh, who appears for Rajput’s family said, “I don’t blame the investigating agencies that the charge sheet is not filed till now because there is so much mystery involved in his death. It has all happened in a closed room. The family and his fans are being patient and waiting for justice to be done.”
